 Newberg, popularly known as the “Gateway to Oregon wine country”. Being just 25 miles from Portland, Newberg is heaven for delicacy and wine lovers. 

Newberg is located in Yamhill county in Willamette Valley. Hence, the soil and land over here is perfect for developing vineyards, especially their most famous Pinot Noir grapes.

Do you want to visit Chehalam Mountain’s first-ever winery and know the history and connection of the environment with wine-making? Then Adelsheim Vineyard is the one you should look forward to. 

Adelshiem vineyard is owned by David and Ginny Adelsheim in 1978. Since then, they have produced some of the best award-winning wines. 

It is a peaceful, picturesque, and knowledgeable journey. Not only do you get to wine tasting, but you also get to tour the vineyard. But you have to inform them about it before your visit. 

The staff usually explains the relationship between soil and the plantations. How soil plays a role in making Pinot Noir distinguished from other regions. And as it says on their website, “ Adelsheim is a Live Certified Sustainable winery.”

They are open daily from 10:30 pm to 4:30 pm. If you ever decide to visit them, you must register with them before your visit. Walk-ins are not allowed as of now. 

Blizzard Wines & Vineyard

Located in the Columbia Valley, Hillsboro, Blizzard wines and vineyard is an estate vineyard that produces wines of interesting notes. 

They have adopted both scientific ways of growing their pinot noirs with a perfect balance of their french traditions that go back ages. 

The couple Dave and Carol VanSchepen are the owners of this beautiful winery. There are private rental facilities available as well. For an intimate party to a cute and sweet wedding. The area around is so magnificent that it will enhance the beauty of the occasion. 

The staff around here is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about their job. You should try their 2021 Rose of Grenache and 20198 Carmenere.

For the celebration, you can also purchase something from their champagne collections. Larnaudie Hirault-Brut Rise and Couvreur Prak – Rose Fraternite are some of the best. 

They are open from Wednesday to Sunday from 11 pm to 5 pm. Reservations are preferred over walk-ins. You may not get a seat if reservations are full. 

Chehalem Winery Tasting Room & Wine Bar

Visit the Chehalem winery tasting room and bar at the heart of Newberg centre Street. Their sustainably and love towards nature that provides us with beautiful fruits is amazing. 

Chehalem means Valley of Flowers, and this vineyard gives justice to this name. The vineyards are so well preserved, and the environment cares with love. 

There is classic tasting which includes 5 hand-crafted white wines. The passion for these wines is contagious. You should try their 2021 INOX Chardonnay and 2016 Corral Creek Vineyard Riesling. 

You can make reservations before coming, but it’s not required if you are a small group. However, if you are 8 or more people coming together, you must make reservations.

Natalie’s Estate Winery

There are a lot of wineries around Chehalem mountain. This is because the soil is perfect for growing grapes. One among them is Natalir’s Estate Winery. It is a gorgeous community of vineyards, and Boyd Teegarden started it in 1999. The place is sweet and homely. 

The staff here is understanding, and the introduction to the wines is given by nonother than the winemaker himself. You are also offered a charcuterie along with it.  There are various types of wine-tasting experiences from which you can choose the one you like. During covid, they have expanded their tasting rooms by creating separate spaces. You must definitely try their Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc. 

They are open from 11 am to 5 pm daily. If you decide to go over there, you should register first. No walk-ins are allowed. 

Tresori Vineyards

Do you like to experience a lavish and cozy winery located on a hilltop? Then Tresori vineyards are the place for you. 

It is a beautiful vineyard northwest of Newberg. The owners or proprietors of this vineyard are Joseph and Maureen Longo, who are so inviting. Each time you visit Tresori, you will have a different experience. It is worth giving it a shot at least 1 time. 

You will taste a beautiful white wine, celebrating their Irish and Italian roots. You need to try their Nannu Pinot Noir and Viognier.  

The visit can be made if you make an appointment or through registration currently. They are open from 11 am to 3 pm daily. 

Rain Dance Vineyard

Rain Dance Vineyards is located in the northern corner of Newberg. It is one of the estate vineyards among others in the area. 

This winery is also at a higher plane making the vineyards and barns look extremely wonderful. You can look over the beautiful Willamette valley while sipping wine. The tasting room gives the right rustic yet aesthetic loom that we all associate with a winery. 

The wines that are produced here are all hand-crafted with love and passion. You should try Pinot  Noir and Chardonnay. Later, you can have a good meal at the Jory Restaurant and buy handcrafted gifts from the local shop. 

They are open from 11 am to 5 pm from Thursday to Monday. Walk-ins are allowed, but only if the space is available. 

Bravuro Cellars

Bravura Cellars is one of the most renowned wineries in Oregon. They are the ones that have received multiple awards for their wineries. 

The warm climate and the soil, like all other wineries, helo to make the desired Pinot Noir Grapes. Unlike other wineries, Bravura is not owned by a family but is more of a full-fledged business organization. 

The service and tasting room are very professional and hospitable. They are Ranked at Top 6 in the list of 10 best wineries in Oregon.

They are open from 12 pm to 6 pm daily. There are no registrations. It is like an early bird. On a first-come, First, serve basis.
